New CEO drives from the front
Borders Wheels is delighted to announce the appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer, Denise Carmichael. Denise joined the organisation from Scottish Borders Council where she had a 15-year career in Active Travel.
Borders Wheels is a Community Transport Charity with locality offices in Jedburgh, Galashiels, Peebles, and Duns. On the 1st of April Borders Wheels completed a merger of Berwickshire Wheels into the organisation
Denise is very keen to consolidate the new organistion and work across local boundaries to offer transport solutions to our clients. I am delighted to see the positive impact that we are having on our communities, in allowing people an accessible alternative method of transport.
“I am pleased to see the range of ways we support our clients,” says Denise. “From hospital appointments to social outings and regular organised trips with other not for profit partner organisations. Borders Wheels plays a vital role in ensuring that individuals have the transportation they need.
